On November 8, 2013, one of the most powerful typhoons ever recorded has taken it's toll on the Philippines - devastating communities and taking over 10,000 lives. Our team would like to distribute Back to Eden DVD's to Crisis Response International (CRI) who has a base operation in Cebu City and is sending relief to Tacloban, one of the first places hit by the typhoon. "The typhoon left Tacloban in ruins, as a storm surge as high as 13 feet overwhelmed its streets, with reports from the scene saying that most of the houses had been damaged or destroyed in the city of 220,000 (NYTimes)." It is in times like these where there is an opportunity and urgency to spread the message of Back to Eden Film. Here is the response we received from CRI:
Thank you guys so much for the offer of the videos. They will be a great resource to the people as they begin rebuilding. I am the deployment coordinator for CRI and will be leading one of the teams over. We are planning on having three to four waves and will be in country long term.
If you would like to mail the videos to me I will make sure they get over with one of our teams.
We have partnered with CRI successfully before, when we distributed Back to Eden Film DVD's to Oklahoma City Crisis Response Unit who is working with those affected by the tornadoes early this year and to Crisis Response International who is teaching Back to Eden growing methods on their sustainable farm in Hawaii. We believe that the organic growing methods shared in Back to Eden Film are a crucial resource that have the power to help reestablish communities during times of crisis.
If you would like to help us send Back to Eden DVD's to the Philippines, please make a tax-deductible donation today! The more donations we receive, the more DVD's we can distribute! Thank you for your generous contribution!
